From Robert Marus: Mayor Vincent C. Gray today announced the appointment of an experienced attorney and consultant, Darryl Gorman, to head the Office of Boards and Commissions (OBC).

?Darryl Gorman has extensive experience in District government, and he brings a strong background in government ethics and confidentiality issues. The nominees and appointments made through the Office of Boards and Commissions are crucial to the work of the District government and in maintaining our connection with the broadest swath possible of District residents,??Mayor Gray said.??Darryl brings a strong knowledge base and well-established contacts within the legal and business community, which will be strong assets in his work with OBC.??

Gorman is currently a management consultant to government agencies, where he resolves Office of the Inspector General audit findings and develops long-and short-term audit compliance and resolution plans. Prior to this position, Gorman served as the Deputy Executive Director of the Department of State and Federal Programs for Detroit Public Schools. Gorman?s previous experience in the District government includes serving as the Deputy Director of the Office of Contracts in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Attorney General for the District of Columbia.?

A graduate of Harvard University Law School and the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, Gorman lives in Ward 4.
