Join us to help celebrate and bid ?buen viaje? to Mrs. Sanchez Hart as she departs to Shenzhen, China to participate in the 2013 Guanlan International Print Biennial.
Centro Cultural Aztlan is proud to announce that Gloria Sanchez Hart is one of a selected few printmakers to have been chosen to participate in the 2013 Guanlan International Print Biennial scheduled from February 26 to April 30, in Shenzhen, China.? Mrs. Sanchez Hart is excited to have accepted this once in a life time opportunity to represent San Antonio and our artistic community. ?
Mrs. Sanchez Hart was born in Mexico and is a resident of San Antonio since 1989.? She is an artist and educator and received her Master?s degree in Printmaking. ?Mrs. Sanchez Hart is a long-time contributing artist of Centro Cultural Aztlan and has participated in numerous group shows throughout the years. In 2012, Mrs. Sanchez Hart created an intaglio, for the United Way Award entitled ?Night of a Thousand Stars?. In 2010 she had a retrospective exhibition celebrating 40 years of printmaking at Stone Metal Press in the Blue Star Arts Complex in San Antonio, and in 2006 at Ado Gallery in Kumamoto, Japan. In 1990 she exhibited at the UNAM campus in San Antonio, and has also exhibited extensively throughout Mexico.? Mrs. Sanchez Hart?s art work is conceptualized as an on-going series where she focuses on survival, maternity, procreation, life and death, rites of passage, and Nahuatl mythology.
