?45,000 ? ?50,000 base per annum + commission + benefits
We are looking for a Business Development Director to join our highly respected, full service, international Marketing, PR & Communications consultancy, based in leafy Surrey, which provides services to the graphic arts, multimedia and computer publishing industries.
Business Development Director ? Purpose of Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will have responsibility for defining and carving the strategic vision for new clients with ambitious business agendas.
You will be tasked with providing commercial direction for the business, as well as planning and developing business objectives. You will build relations across the business at all levels and champion integrated thinking and working.
As the Business Development Director, you will be the face of the Company, driving new business and taking a proactive role in raising the Company?s profile. You will lead on new business accounts and provide advice and support to Account Directors on developing revenue stream from existing clients.
Duties Include but are not limited to:
- Identify genuine new business opportunities in agreed B2B sectors
- Provide a strategic plan for the acquisition of new clients
- Own and develop the sales pipeline
- Lead all new business pitches
- Act as interface between prospective clients and the business
- Raise the external profile of the Company
- Full responsibility for delivery against revenue targets
- Work closely with new clients and assist them in achieving their overall targets
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the environment our clients or prospective clients operate in
- Develop and grow relationships with all clients
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date knowledge of competitors? activities
- Operate as a significant contributor to our industry through participation in networking events and social networks
Business Development Director ? Required Knowledge , Skills and Experience:
- Successful career at Director Level within a B2B PR or Marketing communications agency environment
- Proven background in winning new business from new and existing clients into profitable accounts
- Strategic business planning experience with ability to produce, initiate and drive effective and financially sound business plans and projects
- Desire and passion to build the profile of this already successful agency
- Business leadership experience and ability to motivate others with proven team management success
- Familiarity with business operation both within UK legal framework and within EMEA and beyond
- Knowledge of all aspects of sales and marketing services
- Some knowledge of the graphic communication, printing and allied industries would be an advantage
Job Requirements
- Confident, effective communicator and negotiator
- Strong leadership qualities
- Numerate and with ability to understand full spectrum of business and financial documentation
- Ability to work under pressure, with targets and to deadlines
- Excellent English grammar and technical writing skills
- Consistent, discreet, diplomatic self-starter with a passion to succeed
- Second Language is advantageous
Job Qualifications
- CAM or IOM or IDM qualifications would be valued
