AROUND THE HORN

-- The Athletes in Action Fire handed the Glacier Pilots their second league loss, getting a 6-2 win at Mulcahy Stadium on Friday.

Trey Martin picked up the win for the Fire, and Tyler Linehan took the loss for the Pilots. The Pilots outhit the Fire 10-9, but committed three errors to the Fire's none.

-- The Mat-Su Miners got three hits and two RBIs from Stephen Branca Friday, and rolled past the Anchorage Bucs 6-0 at Mulcahy Stadium. Branca led off the fourth inning with a double and scored the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly by Cam Kneeland.

-- Patrick Wisdom hit a pair of doubles for the Peninsula Oilers, powering a 2-1 win over the Oceanside Waves on Friday at Seymour Memorial Park. Mike Miller and Jeff Yamaguchi each scored a run for the Oilers.

-- Today's game between the Mat-Su Miners and the Pilots at Mulcahy Stadium is the Summer Solstice Showdown. The game starts at 10 p.m., and will continue past midnight.
